I wanted to try something different. I always paint the sunset from the golden hour and often shape it until the blue hour. But colors change so intensely at that time that pure clear tones can be hard to make.
This time I took a risk and started later, so the bright yellows and oranges didn't affect me, and with a blank panel I could pick out bright pinks and blues. However, time was logically less and if my parents hadn't stopped by and used their phone lights I wouldn't have been even able to hit the painting with my brush in the dark.
I've been walking with a flashlight ever since.
